Overview
As a graphic
designer, you are starting to familiarize yourself with image
creation and editing using Photoshop. Understanding the different
tools and features available in Photoshop CS3 will help you to
maximize your creative potential. Additionally, you will want to
enhance the images by creating appropriate masks, applying special
effects and retouching them. In this course, you’ll work with
several tools and features to edit images using Photoshop CS3.

course, students should be familiar with the basic functions of
their computer's operating system such as creating folders,
launching programs, and working with Windows. Students should also
have basic Windows application skills, such as copying and pasting

Overview
Images that are
to be used in websites need to be optimized for optimal file size
and quality. In this course, you will familiarize yourself with the
concepts and techniques that are used to optimize images for display
on the Internet.
You will set
Photoshop’s unit preferences and save files in different formats to
see how well each one balances image quality with file size
reduction. You will then calibrate your system’s color display. You
will also use Photoshop as part of creating finished web pages and
export individual slices and create an HTML Web page that displays a
table containing the sliced sections. Finally, you will use
Photoshop and ImageReady to create and optimize animations for the
web.

Course Overview
You are familiar
with the Photoshop tools and techniques that are used to design and
create images. Applying the correct image and color correction
process and techniques ensures that you get the desired output while
printing images for commercial purposes. In this course, you will
learn professional techniques for obtaining consistent, predictable,
high quality images from Photoshop. You will learn a balanced
approach, starting with system calibration, through the scanning
process, image enhancements, and color correction. You will also
create traditional printed effects such as duotones and spot color
overlays.
Course Objective
You
will identify two contrasting approaches to handling color images.
You will calibrate your monitor, and use color management profiles
to control the image display in Photoshop and for printing. You will
also create a crisp line art image and eliminate dust and scratches,
suppress moiré patterns, and correct red eye defects. You will apply
a color by the numbers approach using curves adjustment layers to
eliminate color casts and maximize the contrast in important regions
of images. Finally, you will apply techniques for improving
sharpness, convert color images to grayscale, and add spot colors to
images.
